MBA Programme
INSEAD Dov and Anat Bar-Gera Scholarship(s) - after Prof Moshe and Ida Ron

Description:
With successful careers during the 15 years since they graduated from the same class at INSEAD, Dov and Anat Bar-Gera (MBA 1987) have generously provided MBA scholarships for future MBA participants at INSEAD. Their wish is to support MBA participants on the Fontainebleau campus who would not be able to afford to attend INSEAD without some financial support. Futhermore, those who are awarded this scholarship will be expected to contribute to this scholarship Fund after graduation so that other future MBAs may also benefit. Prof Moshe Ron (who died in November 2001 at the age 76) was an active and successful international scientist and dean at the Technion, the leading technological academic institute in Israel. Born in Poland, he was exiled to Russia after World War 2 and later to Kazakhstan before he moved to Israel in 1948. Only once his family was settled in Israel did he go back to university at 36 years to complete his studies, after which he built his successful scientific and academic career. On the personal level Prof Moshe Ron is remembered for his positive and optimistic outlook, humour and generosity towards others. He wrote poetry, loved theatre and enjoyed everything cultural, political and scientific. His wife Ida Ron died 4 months after her husband. Together with her husband they dedicated much time and resources to supporting new immigrants to Israel. Ida loved classical music and was an excellent singer. Prof Moshe and Ida Ron were the beloved parents of Anat Bar-Gera. As a homage to Moshe's strong will power, dedication to education and to Ida's humanitarian attitude, Dov and Anat Bar-Gera have dedicated a scholarship in their name to INSEAD MBA participants who demonstrate financial need.
